We Made History @ the UEFA Regions CUP...

Updated: Jun 5

We are thrilled to share the exciting news of our recent journey to this year's UEFA Regions' Cup. Representing the Republic of Armenia on the international stage, we played two exciting games, marking a significant milestone in our club's history: the first-ever win for the Republic of Armenia in the UEFA Regions' Cup!

After winning the league title on April 14th, FC Vayk won its ticket to represent Armenia in UEFA Regions' Cup, and a ticket to participate in the Armenian Cup for 2024/25.

On May 18th, the team flew to Albania, the host country for the UEFA Regions' Cup Group A preliminary round. FC Vayk was drawn in Group A alongside Albania and Estonia (Saue JK).

Our first international game sadly ended in defeat against Albania, where the boys put in a superb effort in that challenging match. However, in our second game, FC Vayk, led by our coach Simon Hambardzumyan, registered its first-ever historic win on the international stage against the Estonian club Saue JK.

At the end of the preliminary round, FC Vayk took 2nd place and raised Armenia’s competition coefficient ranking for future participation. Though we didn’t qualify, the team proudly returned to Armenia, marking the first-ever win for Armenia in the UEFA Regions' Cup and the first-ever win for FC Vayk on the international stage.

Thank you to the teams, fans, and the Football Federation of Armenia for their support throughout this incredible journey. Our first-ever international matches were moments of immense pride and joy for us and our supporters. These matches have not only showcased our potential but also our unyielding spirit and dedication to growing the game of football in Armenia.
